Current Opening: Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Manager Senior Electrical Engineer desired to join an established private consulting engineering firm in Gainesville, FL, to manage electrical design of A-E projects. This individual will work independently on current backlog providing conceptual design for electrical engineering systems and equipment, solutions for public sector and government clients, management of projects, analysis of the design of electrical systems in commercial buildings, monitoring the project work of others and the performance of the project management team, coordination of multiple projects, and the preparation of electrical construction documents, detailed drawings, and following all phases of a project. The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for project budgets, invoices, and all fiscal aspects of each project, including verifying project completion in accordance with the Statement of Work. This position will also provide training, oversight, and mentoring for technical electrical engineering staff. The Senior Electrical Engineer will also be responsible for the following: Preparing and approving all electrical designs. Signing and sealing all electrical drawings. Serving as the Project Manager on selected designs. Qualifications The preferred candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, experienced presentation and business skills, and the ability to maintain priorities within a busy work schedule, including multiple projects at different stages. Requirements include: a B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college, and a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible electrical engineering design and project management experience. A P.E. license is required, with a Florida P.E. being the most desirable (or P.E.(s) in states offering reciprocity). Experience is required in power distribution, lighting, and communication network design. Also required is the ability to legally work in the United States. The ability to monitor and mentor subordinate staff is preferred.
