Current Opening: Mechanical Engineer This position is for a mid-level engineer to prepare and/or approve all mechanical designs including HVAC, Fire Protection, and Plumbing. This position requires the capability to review, sign, and seal approved mechanical drawings and serve as Project Manager on single discipline projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate problem solving and decision making skills and be able to make decisions in a timely manner. Must be able to prioritize design efforts on multiple projects simultaneously and direct the work flow to keep all projects moving forward to meet multiple deadlines from multiple clients. Responsibilities include meeting the needs of the client and project program, meeting the client's budget, and meeting the design budget. Also must be motivated to supervise and mentor other members of the team. Knowledge and Skills B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with experience in HVAC, Fire Protection, and Plumbing. Registered Professional Mechanical Engineer (State of Florida preferred) or ability to obtain P.E. soon. Five or more years of project management experience including project supervision and construction administration. Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit (BIM). Proficient in HAP or Trane Trace programs for HVAC. Proficient in IBC for plumbing calculations. Proficient in NFPA for fire protection calculations. Proficient in editing mechanical specifications in CSI Master Spec format. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Self-starter. Proficient in MS Office Suite. Availability to work full time (40 hours) and evenings and weekends as required. Availability to travel. Valid driver's license. Additional Desirable Experience/Skills Experience with regulatory agencies. LEED accreditation. Physical Requirements: Able to travel to project site to observe, communicate, and direct activities. Able to climb ladders, either fixed or portable, and perform simple tasks such as removal of access panels, etc. Salary is commensurate with experience.
